FOOTBALL MAD.
PLEASURE BEFORE BUSINESS. LONDON, January 22. Employers are complaining that the football craze is completely dislocating important industries. Forty thousand people witnesed the cup-tie match, Hull v. Sunderland, -which was held in the middle of the week. Of this number ninetenths were artisans. Some of the ship yards and engineering works were completely closed, despite threats of the dismissal of absentees. It is estimated that the day's loss in wages and output in Sunderland alone was £SO,OOO. —(United, Service.)
