I WELLINGTON, Thursday. - The following votes for quarantine sta- % tions appear on the Public Works estimates:—Auckland, £20,000; Wellington, £28,450; Lyttelton, £3000; and Port - Chalmers, £1000. Commenting on this matter in Ms statement, Sir William Fraser says:—A heavy item of expenditure is that of providing proper accommodation at the . quarantine stations, in connection with which £14,000 will be required at Auckland and £22,450 at Wellington, with a" further expenditure of £6000 at each station for equipment. Certain necessary expenditure will also be undertakes at Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, making ~ the proposed expenditure during the current year for the quarantine station* amount to £64,450.
