PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS.

ROSKILL ELECTORATE. A large meeting of friends and supporters of Mr. <;. Davis, the official Labour candidate, was held in the committee room. Dominion Road, last night, with the result that a committee of some thirty members was formed. Mr. Horning was elected chairman and Mr. A. Ritchie, secretary. Various sub-com-mittes were formed, and a general scheme of campaign discussed. TDK WAITEMATA SEAT. Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Hoard, who has had a number of requests to contest the VVaitemata seat against Mr. A. Long, of Auckland, announces thnt he will contest the Thames seat as an Independent Liberal. NORTHERN MAORI. (By Telegraph.—rress Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Three candidates have announced their intention of contesting the. election in the Northern Maori constituency in opposition to Mr. Tau Henare, the sitting member. They are Messrs. Nail Paraone (Whangarei), Ropata Porter (Whangaroa), and Henare Toka (Kaipara). TEMCKA CONSTITUENCY. (By Telecraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, Tuesday. Mr. Thomas D. Burnett, sheep-owneT and farmer at Cave, and late president of the Canterbury .Sheep-owners' Union, has consented to stand for the Temuka seat in the Reform interest against Mr. C. J.
