THE RUSSIAN CAMPAIGN.
BOLSHEVIKS FORCED BACK. (Received 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, May 27. General Deniken, the Cossack commander, completely stopped the Bolshevist advance eastward of the Azof Sea, a» counter-offensive forcing the enemy to retire and rccross the Manitch River. Three hundred British ships passed Bergen bound for Archangel. They were mostly flat-bottomed 1000-tonners, which could not be used on the Russian rivers, so that their purpose is a mystery.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
