LOSS IN THE PACIFIC. CATTAIN FULLY EXONERATED. Reference was made at tho Nautical Court of Inquiry at the Magistrate's Court by Mr. E." C. Curtcn, S.*_, this morning to the inquiry concerning the loss of the barque Inverness in the Southern Pacific on April 2(1. 11)18, through an explosion in her coal bunkers. .Vlr. C-ittten said there were several important matters that the Court wanted to further consider before arriving at a finding. They had come to the conclusion, however, that no blame was attachable to the master, and that he took all reasonable steps to save the vessel. He deserved the utmost credit for tbe wav in which he navigated the boat and brought the crew to safety. There were other matters corollary to the whole question that tbe Court wanted to go into, and the matter would be further adjourned till September 11.
