POLICE COURT.
• (Before Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A first-offending inebriate was fined 5/ and 2/6, the amount of his cab hire. Another first offender forfeited the amount of his bail, 10/. Thomas Carney (36), who had broken his prohibition order and had been found drunk in Karangahape Road, was fined £2 on the former charge and convicted and discharged on the latter. SPARRING MATCHED Joe Roberts, alias Tiopira, and Edward j Patrick, two smiling Maoris, who had ! been arrested for indulging in a friendly sparring match in the street, were convicted and discharged, tho magistrate ; pointing out that the public street was not tlie place in which to indulge in matches of this kind. Alexander Joan (2S) and Montagu Stanaway (25) came before the Court on a charge of assaulting each other, and were fined respectively 10/ and 2/6 cab hire, and 10/. * i
