Dr. Newman informed the House toIliirht that the Wellington Racing Club had offered the Railway Department 'JHIHI to run four special train* at their next meeting. He understood the cost of these trains would be only .e4O to JL'.MI, and he wished to know if the Minister would accept the ulTer. Hon. W. 11. Hemes replied: " It is not a question of money in this case, it is a question of shortage of men." l)r Newman: There are plenty of men willing to go on for that day. Mr. HcrrJiv: If we do it for one, we will have t>> do it for all. consequently 1 shall regretfully have to refuse the offer. A Member: Cut the meetings out.
