LAST MAN MEMORANDA.
MILITARY SERVICE BOARD AND MINISTER. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.! WELLINGTON. Monday. The first question put to the Minister when the House met to-night was from Mr. Talhot, regarding proceedings of the Wellington Military Service Board at Hawera, and statements that the Board had inner received a memoranda regarding the necessity of exempting "the last man on the farm." Jlr. Talliot pointed out that there were two singular things about the position. He held in his hand copies of a memoranda dated (March 1, and another of June 23, containing definite statements from the Minister concerning resolution-; of the National liemiiting Board about the last man on the farm. The second feature of tlie report was the Hoard's refiifial to countenance the suggestion. Sir James Allen replied that the Board's chairman must have received the memorandum by this time. He thought it a newspaper error. Mr. Young: It's too definite. Sir James Allen: I'm perfectly sure he has received the last memorandum by now.
