EAST AFRICAN ROUND-UP.

FLANK ADVANCE ON MAIN BODY. LONDON, October 14. An East African official report states: The right column of our troops from Kilwa has occupied Ruponda, an important junction of tracks at the north-west end of the Muera Plateau, and on the flank of the line of retreat of the enemy main body, whose rearguard is 'being pressed by our force moving south ftom Nahuyj. Our rapid advance surprised the enemy, who was also making for Ruponda. We dislodged a strong detachment from positions near Mgende, south of Mahenge, and forced their retirement to the north-east.—(A. and N.Z. and Reuter.)
