CONTINUOUS FIGHTING NORTH OF THE AISNE
ENEMY'S UNSUCCESSFUL ATTACKS IN CHAMPAGNE.
LONDON, July 27. A French communique states: Fighting, accompanied by intense bombardment, on the Hurtebise Plateau, south of AiUes, continued all day. Tlie enemy did not make the slightest progress. We recovered ground at" several points. I neuecessful enemy attacks in the Champagne were followed by a violent bombardment, which extended to the left to Mont Blond, and to 'the right to the neighbourhood of the Casque. Our artillery vigorously replied and prevented tho enemy infantry advancing. There ia artillery activity on both banks of the Meuee.—(A. and X.Z. and Keutcr.)
