HONOURED BY THE FRENCH.
NEW ZEAL-ANDERS' DISTINCTION. Information has been received that shows that several New Zealanders who are engaged in ambulance transport work with the French army have gained important distinction. A general order issued by General Riberpray, d, ea li n S jwith' their work in removing wounded, mentions that a section under the conduct of Lieutenant Raymond. Deville, with Lieutenant John Milne as assistant in command, "gave to the service of thewounded all the bravery and courage of a select personnel." Lieutenant Deville, who is a brother of Mrs. N. S. Perry, of : Remuera. Auckland, gained the Cross de Guerre, and Lieutenant Milne has had a star placed on the ribbon of the Cross which ho already holds. Their three New Zealand subordinates are H. B. Cogan (ChristclvuTch), H. W. H. Sams (Balmoral) and E. P. V. Scaly < j (Timaru).
