THE DEATH OF RASPUTIN.
TOLD TO SHOOT HIMSELF. MURDER FOLLOWS REFUSAL. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LOXDOX, January 7. The Petroprad correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" states that, despite the censorship, it has been revealed that the monk Rasputin was conveyed to the house of Prince Youssoupofl and condemned to death. He was piven a revolver to shoot himself. He fired at the man Tvho pave him the weapon, but missed, and killed a wolfhound. His accusers then disarmed and shot the monk. It is reported that some minor figures in the case have been arrested. A member of the Duma concerned in the affair has already left Petroprad, and, it is reported, has reached the front. General Kurloflf, confidential adviser to M. Protopopoff (Minister of Internal Affairs) is conducting an investigation. A NOLLE FROSEQttt. ACTED IN SELF-DEFENCE. (ruite<l Service.) A section of the Russian Press states that legal proceedings in the R.isputin case "\"fi] 1 shortly be discontinued on the prrounds that the assailants acted in selfdefence.
