HOW THE CARIA WAS SUNK.

AUSTRIAN MANNED SUBMARINE. A HUMANE COMMANDER. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, November 21. A member of the crew of the Cunard steamer C'aria, which was sunk last week, states that it was a Ger. i man submarine manned by Austrians which attacked her. Sho also twice torpedoed the Clan jMacalister after the crew had taken to Hie boats, and then she shelled and sank I the Carja, after ordering the crew, which I was already in the boats, out of the line lof fire. The submarine's commander, i before leaving, apologised, saying that Ihe was only obeying orders. The sub' marine seemed to be almost entirely built of aluminium, and looked like a silver strip in the sun's rays.
