' The sudden death of an old settler (Mr. George Collingwood) occurred tonight at Stratford under tragically sad circumstances. Air. Coftiogwood was presiding at a function at the Salvation Army barracks. He had marto a short speech, and only a v_y-short _mc had elapsed, when he -was. seen to- fall back in his chair. Help iwas immediately forthcoming, abut death had occurred in a moment, in the ■presence of a startled and shocked audience, of which Mrs. CoHingwood was a member. Tlie proceedings were abruptly terminated. Mr. Collingwood, who was 70 years of age, leaves a widow and grown-up;-family.
