"COET" HEADS THE COUNTY AVERAGES. (Received 0.45 a.m.) LONDON, July 20. Ihe Hon. L. Tennyson (son of Lord Tennyson, formerly Governor-General of Australia) has made a sensational debut in county cricket. ll e made his first appearance for his county ( Hampshire i three weeks ago, and in the four matches in which he has played has scored 423 including three centuries. Against Essex yesterday he made 107. while against Notts last week he got 100. He now heads the first-class batting averages. Kent defeated Gloucestershire to-day by eight wickets.
