DEAR APPLES.

■Now-that apples are out- of season here, the demand for goad ones has so increased the price, that they retail at 15 cents apiece, and at some hotels, are listed on the menus a≤ high, as 40, cents apiece. One of the Western growers, ■who made a specialty, of packing choice ■fruit for hotel trade, boasts of having received ten cents apiece for six thousand apples, each separately wrapped, like oranges, in tissue paper and packed in boxes instead of barrels.
