EASTER FASHIONS.
Last Sunday being Easter,' and fairly" fine, the city was thronged with promenaders, -who "took in" the churches and. exchanged inspections of the fashions very extensively. Fifth Avenue was crowded by the best-dressed people from far and near, while the offerings in the church contributions were indicative of great prosperity. Perhaps the most notable feature of the parade this year was not the slashed skirts or low-cut gowns of the women, to which people are pretty well accustomed in every-day life, but the abnormal "style in high silk hats worn by the ultra-fa3hionable men. These are generally rather broad in the brim, and worn so iar on the back of the bead and so close down over the ears as to be very conspicuous.
