SATURDAY'S SPORTS.

This morning Messrs F. J. Ohlson (chairman) and J. J. Mulvihill (hon. sec), of the Auckland centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, interviewed Captain H. Blount, of HM.s. New Zealand, in reference to the events for men-o'-war's men at the sports on the Domain Cricket Ground on Saturday. The warship will nominate a team in the seven-a-side Rugby tournament, and will also meet the Auckland representatives in an Association game. The ship boasts a fairly good Rugby team. At Wellington it defeated the Tramways Union, and put up a good game with the Oriental Club. The invitation scratch race is to be "syds. The warship's representatives l will be A. Barry "and another to be 1 selected. Barry is reported to be capable of better than Usee for the hundred, and if such be the j case the Auckland centre's nominees, L. ■J. Mark and J. J. Mulvihill, will not have matters all their own way. A field gun display will be given by a squad of 42 men. Practice will be commenced at the cricket ground at 10.30 a.m. to-mor-row. A sailor's hornpipe restricted to the crew will ,be included in the programme, and also a wheel race for the field gun squad. Some 400 men will be given leave on the sports day, and these will leave the; Queen Street wharf at 12.30 p.m., headed by the gun squad and the warship's baind. The following is tbe draw for the seven-a-side Rugby tournament: University v. City; referee, Mr A. Nicholson. Marist Bros. v. College Rifles; -referee, Sir S. Conway; Ponsonby v. Grafton; referee, Mr G. H. Katterns. Parnell v. H.M.S. New Zealand; referee, Mr H. Frost. The following players have been selected to represent-their various clubs: — University.—E. E. Bamford, W. Gray, W. Geddes, J. Inkster, J. V. Mackay, F. R. Wilson (capt.), J. Wylie. City.—C. Moffitt, J. D. Stewart (capt.), O. Woolfgramm, E. Church, 0. Stewart, F. Tresize, J. Fake. Grafton.—Bums, Candy, Wheeler, Hickey, Pollock, Steele, Bray. Ponsonby.—G. Avery, H. Francis, M. R. Stewart, J. McGregor, Duff, McCollum, Dance. _ _. College Rifles.—J- Hmes, K.
