OVERSEAS CLUB.

Members of the Overseas Club, like* many.otber enthusiastic citizens, turned; out en masse to welcome the.visiting, manrof-war, and were accommodated, through the courtesy of the Devonport Ferry Company, in the fenry steamer, Kestrel, ■ which steamed to Uie beacon where the arrival of the magnificent battle-cruiser was awaited. The Kestrel flew a banner hearing the words "Welcome from the Overseas Club." A! : message was signalled as esriy as practicable to the oncoming viator: "Wclfrom the Overseas Ctab to Captain Halsey, officers and. men." The message was immediately picked up and replied to as follows: "Many thanks from H.M.S. to Overseas Club." Captain Tye got the' Kestrel well inside hailing distance, enabling the crowded passengers of the ferry steamer to get a very fine view of •the warship.
