WATERSIDERS ANNOYED.

BOARD'S DISCOURTESY. An unexpected development has arisen in connection with the Harbour Board's declaration of a half-holiday along the ■waterfront from 12 noon. A notice was posted by the Board stating that the watersiders' waiting-room would be closed at noon for the afternoon, and no work would be done on the wharves. ' The Waterside Workers' Union have, taken exception to the fact that; they received no official intimation of the Board's decision;- and announce that, on account of what is alleged to be the Board's discourtesy, no.work will be resumed again until 8 o'clock to-morrow morning. This means that iio night shift will be worked.on the wharves, and consequently the shipping in port will be to some extent inconvenienced by the cessation of operations. (Continued on page 7.)
