The Blrkeahead Borongh Council met last evening. <'nli Stanrt.—The Devonport Council wrote endorsinß the action of Blrkenhead in protesting against the cabstand being moved to Quay Street, fronting the new ferry buildings. It was resolved to write to the Harbour Board, asking for their co-opera-tion in the innlter. BreukinfT Sp-.iwls.—The Town Clerk submitted the agreement entered into between the coiurnrtor (H. Uedye) and the Council for breaking spawls at the quarry reroutly acquired by the Council. The agreement was approved, and on the mctioD of the Mayor the Council's signature was attested. Tiznrd"B Road.—Mr. B. F. Tizard wrote, objecting to the alteration of the name of this road to Aknrana Hood. It was resolved to reply that the resolution dealtni! with the naming of streets wns now closed, and therefore cannot be re-opened.
