Mrs. Pethick Lawrence, the suffragette leader, who was sentenced to two months' imprisonment over the demonstration in Parliament Square a fortnight ago. has been released on bail. The legality of her conviction is not questioned, owing to the principal witness not having been sworn. A passenger train travelling at a high speed was thrown into a ditch at Paducah, Kentucky.
