TRAGEDY OF JEALOUSY
HUSBAND'S FEARFUL DEED. KILLS WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN THEN COMMITS SUICIDE. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, December 2. The bodies of a man named FrankCooling and his wife and three children were found with their throats cut at Kyabram, a town 123 miles north of Melbourne. The ca.-e is supposed to be one of murder and suicide. Cooling was a quiet, hardworking labourer, born in the district. He had been involved in a jealous quarrel, and law proceedings appear to have unhinged hi* mind. Two children awoke and found their father and mother, two brothers, aged li. and !l years, and a baby six weeks old. dead, lying on the floor. How the other two escaped is remarkable. A bloodstained razor was found near Cooling, broken by the force used. Cooling had apparently been shaving when the tragedy occurred. A MAN IN THE HOUSE. QUARREL AND COURT CASE. (Received 9.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Jealousy is believed, to he the cause of the tragedy. Cooling returned from the country a week ago. and found a man with whom he was on unfriendly term* in the house. A scene ensued, and Police Court proceedings followed. Cooling quarrelled with his wife over the circumstances leading to the Court caei, and afterwards became gloomy.
