CANADIAN ELECTIONS.
CONSERVATIVE PROGRAMME. (Received 12.34 p.m.) OTTAWA, August 15. The Conservative platform has * been Issued for the coming election. Its main planks are reform of public expenditure, removal of present extravagances, granting the right over the natural resources to the prairie provinces, construction of the Hudson Bay railway (its operation to be under an independent commission), encouragement of the chilled meat industry, establishment of a Permanent Tariff Commission, liberal grants for improvement to agriculture, to maintain the independence of the Canadian Parliament in its own affairs, but to seek to find the highest ideal in the autonomous development of Canada as a nation within the Empire.
