FIRE ON SURREY HILLS.
A FIVE MILE FRONT. TROOPS CHECK THE BLAZE. (Received 8 a.m.) LONDON, August 15. A heath fire five and a-half miles long swept Surrey Hills, threatening several sanatoria and a number of dwellings. Five hundred troops dispatched from Aldershot cut down a belt of trees, thus averting the danger.
