SINKING OF THE LORDS.
VETO BILL IN COMMITTEE

Sir John Gorst says that the sinking of the Lords has begun with the committee, stage, in the House of Lords, of the Parliament Bill. CROMER'S AMENDMENT. CARRIED BY A BIG MAJORITY. (Received 1.20 pjn.) LONDON, June 28. In the House, of Lords the Earl of Cromer's amendment for the insertion 'Jf a new clause in the Parliament (Veto) Bill for appointing a joint committee of seven members of each House, of which the Speaker would be chairman, to decide what is a money bill and other doubtful points, the Speaker and Chancellor of the Exchequer to select the committee in such a manner as to secure an impartial tribunal, was carried by 183 votes to 44.
THE ROYAL SHOW.
AUSTRALIAN EXHIBITS. (Received 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, June 28. The King visited the Royal Agricultural Show at Norwich as president of the Royal Agricultural Society. Beautiful weather prevailed, and there was an enormous crowd:
Sir Joseph Ward, Sir J. G. Taverner, Sir Newton ,F.J_fOore, Mr. J. Kirkpatrick, and many Australians were present. The Commonwealth made a splendid show of the products of the various States, including Victorian fleeces, fruits, and wines; New South Wales, grains; West Australia, grains and fleeces. These were greatly admired, as was a fine display of butter. The States' pavilions were placarded with large paintings of Australian country life. Farmers, representing each State, addressed large groups of English farmers eager to obtain information of the productive capabilities of the Commonwealth.
Tbe King visited the West Australian stand and conversed with Sir N. F. Moore, showing great interest in the development of the State, and expressed a hope that .West Australia would continue to attract many suitable emigrants.
