He will leave for San Francisco by the Maitai to-morrow. Mr. A. R. Wren, of Adelaide, was an arrival by the Rarawa from the West | Coast this morning, and is at present staying at the Grand HoteK He "oej lup to Rotorua next week. Mr. Justice Cooper is expected to arrive in Auckland to-morrow morning. He will preside at the criminal sessions of the Auckland Supreme Court, commencing on Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. W. Goodman Talbot, of Wellington, were passengers by the Main Trunk train this morning, and will leave on a visit to Rotorua on Monday. They are staying at the Rovsi Hotel. Mr. J. M. Clark, of Wellington, who will judge the elocutionary events at the forthcoming Auckland 'Competitions Society's festival, will arrive in Auckland to-morrow morning, and will stay at "Cargen." Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Watt, tourist* from Home, who have been travelling through New Zealand, arrived from Rotorua by the express last evenrns, and will leave by the P. and 0; boat Mongolia on Thursday next. Among the arrivals by the Navua from the Islands this morning who are staying at the Central Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Moore and Mr. C. A. Bennett, of San Francisco; Mr. Alexander Bona, of Italy; and Mrs. L. 0. Turtle, of Sydney. Mr. and Mrs. F. Montague, of Wellington, were passengers by this- morning's train from the South, and are staying at the Royal Hotel. Mrs. Montague is to act as the official accomppaniste at the Auckland Competitions Society's festival, which begins on Monday. Mr. James Henry Hayr, of Auckland, to-day celebrates the 67t_ anniversary of bis arrival at Auckland from the Old Country. Mr. and Mts. Hayr, who both enjoy excellent health, 'have nine children, one of their sons being Mr Harry IL Hayr, the well-known and popular secretary of the Avondale Jockey Club. Arc_bishop Redwood, who Tepresented New Zealand at the Euc-arigtic Congress at Montreal, returned by the Moeraki from Sydney on Wednesday. His Grace, who was the sole representative of Australia and New Zealand at the Congress, visited the chief cities of Canada and the United States after the- conference was over. At Ottawa he was tha guest of the Prkne-Mwister - (Sir Wilfrid Laurier). He returned viai Queensland, spending ten days wit- his brother, Mr. Vemon Redwood, who is Mayor of Toowoonrba. There will be a reception to the Archbishop at the Wellington Town Hall to-night, and his Grace will give an account of his im* preesions while abroad.
