The subjects of "Policy Questions" and "Scientific Temperance Instruction" were introduced by the Rev. J. Dawson, and keenly debated by the Convention. The Convention resumed for the evening session at 7-30, the Rev. Canon Haselden presiding. Rev. J. Dawson introduced the first subject, viz.: "Lessons from the Recent Poll." The following members of Convention spoke on behalf of their various electorates:—'Mr. L. Faulkner, •Eden; Mr. C. Jenkins, Grey Lynn; Mr. Brown, Ohinemuri; Mr. R. French, Auckland City; Mr. C. Waterhouse, Tauranga; Mr. C. R. Jones, Waitemata; Mr. C. J. Brown, Thames; and Rev. A. Doull, Manukau. Mr. A. G. Marshall, vice-president of the Auckland University Christian Union, gave a most interesting address on "The Temperance Movement from a Student's Standpoint," in which he asserted that the no-license movement was receiving the support of the majority of the students, and was the first, and not the last, one in reformatoiy movements.
