It was unanimously resolved that Mr Hemus be. appointed secretary of the club to fill .the vacancy caused through. Mr. B. Andrews being transferred to another district. Mr. F. Reynolds was confirmed as treasurer. Messrs. Yon Dodleson and Kevell were elected to the committee It was decided that all members whose subscriptions were In arrears be asked to pay within a fortnight, or be debarred from using the club's gear. It was resolved that a hearty i vote of thanks be recorded to the travelling club for their services towards, the club in going to Hamilton and Mercer regattas. PAEBOA. T <l uarterl 7 meeting of the Pride of' Waihi Lodge of Druids was held last night, and was well attended. Only one member was reported on the sick list. Two new members were initiated, and several proposed. The Syllabus Committee was appointed to draw up a programme of aftermeetings and entertainments. Bro Malcolmson., delegate to the Grand Lodge meeting at Palmerstori North, gave an interesting report or the business done there It was reported that everything was progressing well in connection wKh the formation of a female lodge. OHAKtWE. A deputation, consisting of Commissioners Athy, Wilkle, and Qninn, representing the Ohaknne Town Board, waited upon the County Council on Saturday in reference to the delayed settlement of adjustments between the two bodies, and also with regard to an amount of accrued thirds which had not been handed to the Board. After discussion, councillors expressed their willingness that the thirds should be paid forthwith, and a motion was thereupon carried to that effect. The Board's liability on the Mangateltel swing bridge was fixed at £7. The Town Board's unimproved valuation was £16,201, and the County's £721,356. The Board's portion of £200 liability on the Mangawhero (Aberfeldle) bridge was, therefore, about £3 on a pro rata basis. These Itemß being settled, it was arranged that the Board's solicitor draw up the agreement, and the Interview terminated. WAXPU I ' On Monday evening a public meeting was held In the Walpu Library Hall. Mr Dan. H. McKeuzie was asked to take the chair, and explained that the meeting was called to see what could be done about getting a doctor In the place, as Walpu had not i had the services of a resident medical man I since the death of Dr. Scott He thought Dr. Mountnlne would be present at the meeting, but had received a wire from that gentleman, stating that he could not attend. Mr. Angus McLennan proposed, and Mr. A. iJ. McKay seconded, a motion undertaking to support Dr. Mountalne in getting a suitable medical man for Walpn as he Is unable himself to attend to the whole district In his practice. Messrs. A. J. McKay, Dan. K. McKenzlc, A. McLennan, S. McInnes, J. A.'Morrison, and J. Durham were i appointed a committee to confer with Dr. Mountalne. and ascertain on what terms a doctor could be secured, and draw out a scale of charges, rtnd canvass the district to see what support could be got, and report to a generai meeting. It was agreed that sex be no bar to getting a doctor. A committee meeting was held Immediately after the close of the public meeting, and it was agreed that Mr. Dan. H. McKenxle be chairman of committee, and that 3. N. 1. McKay act as secretary.
