AMUSEMENTS.
HOMPTY DUMPTY."
Every corner of His Majesty's Theatre was occupied again last night by an audience et'ger for amusement, and for the greater part eagerly amused. Pantomime is essentially a spectacular amusement, popularly credited with a combination of light, sparkling music, in a swimming sauce of fun, and everyone last night departed thoroughly satisfied that "Humpty Dumpty" more than filled the first of the conditions, and tolerably satisiied the other two, albeit some of the humour was a little bit prolonged, and could, with no loss to the general enjoyment of the piece, be in sundry places curtailed. This afternoon at 1.45 p.m. sharp a matinee performance was given, and this evening there will be a time test to Qiscover how quickly under ordinary conditions the house can be emptied. -
