FAKKEXE. CRICKET CLUB. The animal meeting of the Parne-U District Cricket Plub war-.- iield on Wednesday in the footli.-ill I'lub's Eymntißinm, Hobson Park-road. Mr. F. J. Ohlson presided ovei' a very pood mooting, some 40 members being present. Tho report and balancesheet were submitted aud adopted, the bal-ance-sheet showing a credit of £1 ISA*. , . The report stated that the year had been fairly satisfactory. The first grade team was bracketed with Grafton, North Shore, and City for the championship, the third grade team was second in their competition, and the fourth grade won the championship. E. B. Sale was head of the whole district with a batting average of .uH.9. securing the tropuy presented by Mr. H. Brett for the highest average in the senior grade. During the year the teams of the club played 4."i matches, of which 32 were won and 13 lost. The election of officers resulted ns follows: Patron, the Hon. E. Mitchelson (re-elected); president, Mr. F. Burl; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. C. Cnlbeek. Ivor Evans, aud P. Pickford: seeretury and treasurer. Mr. W. J. Dennison; general committee, Messrs. P. R. Fraser, R. B. Lusk. F. S. Murray. 0. Olliff, F. .1. Ohlson. E. B. Salo. and .1. Williams; hoi!, auditors, Messrs. P. K. Frasei , and E. .T. O F. Greville. Messrs. P. R. Fraser, F. J. Ohlson, and It. B. Lusk were appointed delegates to the Association. Messrs. Ohlsou, Yates. and Fraser were elected lite members of the olub. During the evening six trophies were offered for the ensuing seasou. A notice of motion was given with regard to rule 24 of the Association, respecting the number of points given: "That instead ul the wonig 'for n win, 2 points, and for a tie 1 point shall be scored,' the following words be* substituted: 'for a win outright • 3 points, win on the first Innings 2 points, and a tie or drawn game l" point be scored.' " Seventeen new members weft , elected. The question of umpires was discussed, and the delegates instructed to support any motion providing for the reimbursement of travelling expenses* to umpires, providing they were appointed by the Association. The delegates were (riven a free hand in the matter of the Eden Club's application fo-r the senior matches in which they are engaged to he played on their own ground. BIRKENEEF.AD CRICKET CLUB. Mr Jas. P. McPhail presided over a fair attendance of members in the Foresters' Hall, B&rk-eobeaci. T*he annual report, as read by the secretary (Mr K. Webb) stated that during the season ten grade matches were played; the club was successful in winning seven, and out of four outside matches three wine were obtained. In the grade •competition the club was bracketed with Parnell for second honours. For the best batting average ,T. Riddell secured 25.69 rtins. For bowling, H. Pengelly. averaged i.52 over, 311 runs, 49. wickets, total 6.34. The receipts were £11 19/, expenses £11 0/S. leaving a credit balance of 3S/4. The following officers were elected-.—Pa-tron, Mr B. V. Miiler; president Mr A. Key-es (Mayor of Birkenhead); vice-presi-dents, Dr. C. E. Player, Messrs Alf Taylor, H. P. Taylor, S. S. Kinnaird. TJios Phnrch and B. T. Hawkins; captain, Mr ,T. Riddell; vice-captain, Mr H. Pengelly; secretary and .treasurer, Mr B. Hunt; committee. Messrs .7. Riddell, H. P*ngelly, B. Hunt, R, Webb, A. Ri-ddeH and Jae. McPhail; Selection Committee, the captaan, vice-captain and secretary. It was decided to approach the North Club with a view to obtaining permission to play a match on the Victoria Park.
