(By ffelegrapo.— Press Association.) CHBISTCHUKCH, Thursday. The lootbail match. between Sydney University and Canterbury College was played at Lancaster Park this afternoon, wnen Sydney won very easily by 'Jβ points (a goal Irom a try, a penalty goal, and six tries) to nIL Directly after the kick-off the College were called upon to act on the defensive, and the visitors held the upper hand until well on in the nrst spell, when the College entered their territory for the first time. After this the play was more even, but the home team failed to take advantage of the openings offered, while the University made the most of theirs. At half-time, although playing against the wind, the visitors had ecored 12 points to their opponents' nothing. On changing ends the local men held their own for a time, but half-way through the spell their defence broke down, and the Sydney men gained four more tries, one of which was converted into a goal. The visitors did not Impress the onlookers as being a great team, and had they met a good forward combination, which could get possession of the ball in the scrummage, they wonld have been unable to have made the use of their backs in the manner they did.
