APPLES FOR LONDON.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —A paragraph" has been published to the effect that Mr. Blackmore has got' 30 varieties «f apples to send to England for the Royal * Horticultural Society's .Show in London in June, and that the North has been ignored by the Agricultural Department. This is untrue, as Mr. W. A. Boucher took a lot of trouble to get up a collection of Auckland apples. I packed and forwarded, to him two cases, comprising 20 varieties, of 10 to 16 fruit of variety. Mr. John Barr sent three eases, between 20 to 30 'varieties; and Mr. H. H. Jorth told mc he was collecting apples at Helensyille for Mr. Boucher. On the day Sir. Boucher left for San Francisco he told mc the apples had. gone forward to London. I think it is only fair to Mr. Boucher it-o give this true statement, as the North .has not been ignored.—l am, etc., H..E. SHARP. Oratia.
