A MUNICIPAL OVERSIGHT.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—Fot some time past the gentlemen controlling the affairs of the City Council have been busily engaged with matters pertaining to the loan proposals and the federation of the boroughs. And so, perhaps, the oversight is pardonable. But it does seem reasonable cause for remark that since the erection of the Endeau Buildings there has been no public convenience at the foot of Queen-street. The tramway employees are also loudly complaining, because there is not provision at their disposal at the Three Lamps, Ponsonby. Quite a crowd of tramway employees invariably congregates at the Lamps, and I think tkere is reason in their complaint. This letter has been written in the interests of tramway men, commercial travellers, and working men in general.—l am, etc., PERRY TAYLOR.
