COUNTRY NEWS.
WAITOA. At the last monthly meeting of the Waiioa Road Board, the Assets Realisation Board -wrote stating that the question of bridging . the Waitoa River • had been referred to the head office. The relations between the Railway Department and the local bodies, witb reference to the maintenance ol Waitoa. Bridge No. 1. were mentioned in a letter from the clerk of the County Council, and It was resolved to reply stating tnat the Board had no documentary. evidence to show that the road referred to was ever a public road. The Chief Surveyor advised the Board that the road from the railTv'ay reserve to the Hamilton-road at Morrlnsville was not a legal road.. The "Valuation' Department wrote declining the request for a reduction in their charge for keeping up the valuation roll.
