Although the weather was delightful when the match was resumed to-day, at a quarter-past twelve, by lunch time heavy rain again set in, and the match was abandoned. Marylebone declared their innings closed with eight wickets down for IS3. The partnership between Jackson and Braund lasted just over an hour, the sixth wicket falling for a total of rio. King played Noble on for 1(35, and Jackson was taken splendidly by Darling at short-leg. Except one lucky j snick, his innings was masterly. He hit nine fours, and drove Layer into the i pavilion. He batted To minutes.
