ROWING APPEAL DECISION.
(By Telegraofc.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, thk day. \ A matter of considerable interest to [ Auckland rowing men has been di.s- I cusse-d by the council of the New Zea- I land Amateur Rowing Association in ; the shape of an appeal from the West I End Rowing Club against the decision I of the Auckland Association in ruling j that the umpire's decision in disqualify- j ing the West End junior crew at the j Xgaruawahia regatta on March 17 was i a question of fact, and that the umpire's decision must be upheld. The council of the New Zealand Association, however, decided that the umpire was wrong in his interpretation of the law on several j points, and reversed the decision of the Auckland Association, the result being, therefore, that the West End crew are j held to be the winners of the race.
