A PROHIBITION CASE.

CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday.

At the Magistrate's Court to-day, be fore Mr W. R. Haseldcn, S.M., Frederick Cross, a Christchurch wine and spirit merchant, appeared to answer a charge laid under the section of the Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act, which reads: "It shall not be lawful for any person to solicit or receive any order for any liquor within a no-license district." Defendant had inserted an advertisement drawing attention to a brand of whisky in the Ashburton "Guardian."
