The mutton market is quiet, vr'tli an inclination to force sales. Canterbury, 4yd; Dunedin and Southland and Meat iOxport Co., 4d; other North Island, 3Jd; IHver Plate mutton, 3fd. There is ii good demand for all lamb, but competition amongst holders to clear stocks lowered values. Canterbury, 4Jd; other brands, 4jjd. Beef, quiet; New Zealand hinds, 4}d; fores, 3ij'J.
There is good demand for butter owing to small supplies on hand. X.K. butter, 102/; Danish, 107/. There is no alteration in cheese. llemp, firm; light stocks on ha,;d; good to fair Wellington on spot, £33 10/; April uud June shipments, £29. , : * Cocksfoot, dull; buyers not Keen tot do business.
