RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

A special meeting of the Raglan County Council was held at Nguiiiav/a>hia. or Thursday, when thore wero present: Mwsrs Hewet. (chairman), Hamilton, McGuirk, Bankart, McKmnon, Brace. A special orfier was pa&sed striking a rate o£ 5-16 am the £ over Opatara Riding in .connection wrth the loa.n o£ ;E1200; A petition, the outcome ot a public .meeting, was presented to the Council Asking tlwm to take steps to borrow £30!)0 for metalling the main road from tho WalkatO Bridge to Turners Junction. Another meeting had been held, wfaich advocated tne borrowing of £5,000, with increase of ..proposed taxation area in the Onewhero and Wliangape Ridings, as per map produced.
