EXPORT DUTY ON TIMBER

WELLINGTON, this day.

The Hon. C. H. Mills, Minister for Customs, has directed that the exporf duty on white pine and kahikatea shall be'defined as follows:—The words "any width" mentioned in the schedule to the Order-in-Council, dated 27th March, to mean white pine flitches exceeding 14 inches in width and six' inches in thickness, such flitches to be charged two shillings per 100 superficial feet, and all sizes under that measure to be free of duty.
