NEWMARKET.
Nominations for the mayoralty of Newmarket closed at noon to-day. Mr John L. McColl, the present Mayor, was nominated for re-election by Messrs J. R. Caston and J. Kennedy, and there being no other nominations was declared duly elected by the returning officer, Mr Hogg.
