PAEROA, this day.

The first football match of this season Ift Paeroa was played on Saturday, when the Native Rose, of the Thames, fneci conclusions with the local team. An interesting and close game resulted in a wiri for Paeroa by 5 points to 3. For the winners Eaton scored a try and converted it, and for the losers Morgan scored but Huddlestone failed to convert. For Paeroa Flynn and Manning (backs) and Johnson, Eaton, W. Sorensen, and Callaghan were the best; and for Native Rose Price and Morgan amongst the backs, and Etuddlestone, Arns, Mullins, and Smith were conspicuous. Mr W. Moore proved an efficient referee.
