THE WESTLAND PRESENTATION.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
HQKITIKA, this day,
An address from the people of Wesstland to King Edward is being forwarded to the Premier to-day for presentation when in England. The address is prepared in album form, containing a splendid collection of West Coast photographs, including some of the wild mountain scenery of South Westland, with magnificent views of Franz Josef. The album is encased in a handsome cabinet of polished West Coast wood, beautifully mottled. The cabinet has a greenstone and gold mounting, and is splendidly finished. A slab of bevelled greenstone rests on the top and is surmounted by a gold crown, with gold fern leaves at the sides. Goldmounted greenstone pillars support the sides, while the handles are also o-f greenstone, and a gold plate bears the inscription: "From the people of Westland. New Zealand, June, 1902." The present is altogether of unique design and character, and is being most generally admired.
