GALE AT COROMANDEL.

COEOMANDEL, Monday

A very heavy easterly gale was experienced here during the last few days. Throughout Sunday night the gale was' exceptionally heavy, doing considerable damage throughout the district. A large fish-curing shed on Beach Eoad, belonging to Mr. Reid, was completely demolished, and several shop windows in Kapanga Road were broken by the force of the wind. The telegraph line to the Thames was interrupted during the morning by trees being blown across the wires, but comrmmication was restored during the day.
