FRANKLIN EUGBY UNION.

The first of the Franklin Rurrby Union cup matches was played at Tuakau on Saturday between Tuakau Ist and Wairoa Ist, and resulted in a draw, after a very even game, each side scoring three points. Mr iNiccol captained the Wairoa, and W. Poland, the local team. Mr Surman, of Auckland, gave great satisfaction as referee, being heartily cheered by both teams.—(Own Correspondent).

In the football match played here on Saturday (Hamilton Union), City defeated Suburbs by a goal from a mark to nil. The losers bad all the best of the game, and with a little luck should have, won. During the match, Kelly, a Suburbs forward, was badly winded, but under Dr. Douglas' treatment recovered in about an hour.
