WAIHUI.
Several samples of ore from the Waihi mine were on view to-day at Mr J. J. Macky'a office, and were all of a very satisfactory character. These were taken from all parts of the shaft, and also included stone from the cross reef and from a new body of ore recently met with in the face of the drive" put in at forty feet down the shaft. This particular stone carrias coarse crystals, which generally an* a good indication. Another eighty feet of driving at this level should intersect the Gossoon. A large block of stone from the "blow" also looks very promising. Previous assays made from ore out of the Waihui mine were £8 17/6, £ 6 and £13 6/. The reef at present is two feet six inches in width. UNION WAIHI. The return from the Union Waihi Company for the past month's operations was £2173, from 1430 tons, making the total output to date £ 17,593.
