GRAFTON V. GREY LYNN.

(Grafton, 10 goals; Grey Lynn. 1 goal.)

This match was played on No. 2 ground. Stewart and Treston faced off. The former got possession and passed to Luckie, and ho to Atkinson, who dealt a fast shot, which Wall on drovr off beautifully aud out of play. Kelly made a 2reat' run, hut held the ball too long, nnd an excellent chance was thrown away. Kiillendar rescued and threw well down the field, and Grafton i attack, which commenced to work in its machine-like order, had the rubber through the posts smartly. Only a short interval went by before the black and whites' forwards were again 'n the van. Grey Lynn's rear division went out of position, and Luckie, Hay a#d Atkinson seized the opportunity and the latter again shot, with success. Walker was prominent for "head" play, and secured the third goal for Grafton. After this Grey Lynn rallied, and Treston made a good opening for his attack. A. Gummer got possession, and' beating Ashton shot Grey Lynn's first and only goal. Treston made another good opening, but Bradly spoilt all chance by selfish play. Ilemus threw into the red and whites' territory, and Hay shot unsueessfully. Hill secured and "fooled" his checkers and scored. A little later the same player again piloted the rubber into the net, just before the Hpell finished.

Second Half.—Soon after operations were resumed Grafton were again attacking vigorously. From a loose scramble Walker secured possession and nettod a neat one. Hay immediately afterwards sent a fast onr- for the net, which Grey Lynn's goal keeper successfully spoilt. Grey Lynn's buck men were now beginning to "crack up,'' and Grafton, making use of their opportunities, ran up the total score tol6goals against their opponents' one. Mr W. Nolan controlled the game satisfactorily.
