FIRE AT WAIHI.

WAIHI, this day.
Great excitement prevailed here on Saturday riigiit, when the flrebellv rang an alarm. The street was fiiW of people, and a blaze could be seen; just out of town. It transpired that oil in the hydro-carbon gas generator at Eoberts Bros.' branch store, near the battery, had accidently been ignited. Assistance was soon at hand, and the fire was extinguished with little damage, but a storeman named Harris received severe burns in trying to put out the fire. The brigade were on the spot.
