Defended Case.—Robert M. Heighton v. Dibble and Butler, claim £15 5/6, for fees under the Servants Registry Office Act, Mr Pilkington for plaintiff, Mr J. R. Reed for the defence. Plaintiff claimed 7/6 per man for about forty servants engaged by him during a period of 5 years for the defendants, who ran a dairy farm. Mr Reed, for the defence, submitted that it had not been proved at the time the servants were engaged the plaintiff was a licensed registry office keeper. His Worship upheld the objection and plaintiff was non-suited accordingly, with costs £1 !/•
